was to be his throwing Crackery and Powder up in the Air
As soon as he see that, he, the Prisoner and his Men
was to go on his duty and not before - I think I
staid in the field till about three o'Clock in the
morning - I and another Man then made our escape
and I went home, and went to bed - it was rain very
bad and very dark - I was wet to my Skin all
Next morning they called me out of my bed and said
there was thousands and thousands of the Colliers coming
down, it was then I think about 8 o'Clock - I
got up. a Man was working on the Dock who
called me up - I should know him again if I see
him _ I got up and went straight along the Tram
road towards the Court y Billa Machine - I did see
hundreds and thousands, running for their lives - They
were running from the Salutation and from Newport -
I had heard no firing before then - I was in bed
I did not hear any firing at all - I saw Mr Frost
there running away by Court y Bella Machine. I remember
a person taking the Chair at Dukes' Town - they call
him Price the Doctor from Newbridge - I cant be
sure I know any of the Men I saw in the field the
other side of the Bridge I heard them call the Captain
the Captain answered all along - The prisoner Jenkin
Morgan
was the Captain
- I dont know John Lewis of
Pill a Block Layer - I know a laborer at Pill of the
name of John Lewis - he is called "Jack y Scwlpin" I
cant say whether I saw him on Sunday night or not
I know Pine's Row very well - John Lewis or
Jack y Scwlpin does not live at Pines Row
I dont know well where he lives - The Prisoner
Pike on that night had a Pike in his hand, it was more than a
foot in length, it was on a piece like a Mop Stick - it was
a Pike & Something across it - one end went into the Stick -
with that he was going to take the Warehouse with the Powder
some of the Men in the field had Arms and some were without,
